Visual Identity and concept for the art and culture space das Bedürfnis

Das Bedürfnis e.V. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the arts and culture. Its goal is to adapt underutilized urban space for cultural uses. The first task was to turn the former Bedürfnisanstalt in Halle's southern city center into a venue for events and exhibitions. As a venue for public dialogue and projects, the group strives to promote participation and remove barriers for the urban society.
The association required a visual image in order to establish itself in the fast evolving urban fabric with a strong recognition value. The mission of Bedürfnis e.V. was to share the program, the cultural self-image, and all contents with a large audience as clearly, easily, and without barriers as feasible.
Development and implementation of the visual identity for use in social media, exhibition communications, website communications, and letter communications.
»As a member of Das Bedürfnis e.V., I have the chance to take on many of the organization's PR duties and have had the chance to deal with representational and content communication issues in depth. How can the program be made more visible? Is it possible to foster engagement through design? The association's members worked closely with the designers to realize the new design concept.«
The homepage of the website features an interactive sketching pad that invites users to engage. In this approach, needs and messages can be left and kept; as a result, the online presence expands with each new addition. The primary pages' organized clarity and simplicity simultaneously highlights the exhibitors, events, and crucial information.
