Any cultural practice revolves around gathering information through searching, archiving, and preservation. What does the word "collect" mean? How might collections be portrayed? Who chooses what is worthwhile to collect?

The book "Object of Desire" is a collection of collections, including drawings by the collectors themselves. The phenomenon of collecting is covered in a historical section, along with the reason why people gather and build collections.
